FAQs

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Why should I choose Element 120 Photos?

We are a full time, family run, graphic design company and print all of our products in-house to ensure maximum quality and turnaround time. We use only the highest quality products and equipment and are constantly adding photographs to our letter library and template photo card designs to give you multiple choices for your purchase.

What methods of payment do you accept?

At this time, we only accept payment through PayPal, however you do not need your own PayPal account to purchase from our site.

Can I see a proof of my design before purchase?

Unfortunately, for both our name frames and photo cards, we do not provide any custom design prior to purchase. However, all of the letter choices for frames can be viewed prior to purchase in our letter library and our card designs can be viewed on our site. We will email proofs throughout the design process to ensure your satisfaction with the final design and get final approval before any printing begins.

How quickly will I receive my order?

You will receive your first proof 3 business days after your order date. Your response time plays a large part in how quickly you will receive your order, so the sooner we hear from you the better.  After your final proof approval, your order will be shipped within 5-7 business days. You will receive notification of when your package has shipped, along with a tracking number if applicable. You can find additional information regarding our shipping policies here. ***Please contact us prior to purchase if you have any concerns or if you would like to discuss any rush options.

What happens if I find a mistake in my design when it arrives?

Your design will be printed exactly how it appears in your final proof. PLEASE be sure to double-check wording, spelling, etc prior to approving the final proof, as we are not held responsible for any errors after your approval.

What is your refund and return policy?

If you decide after the purchase of your frame or photo card, that you no longer wish to continue with the design process, we will refund your money. However, once the design process begins, we cannot offer a full refund. A $20 fee will be assessed for the time already spent on your design up to this point. Your order is completely customized to you with names, dates, and photographs. Therefore, after your product is shipped, we can not accept any product returns.

We take pride in our work and always want you to be 100% happy with the end result. If any situation arises where you are not pleased when your order arrives, please contact us and we will work to ensure your satisfaction.

How do I contact Element 120 Photos?

We are an internet based business and the majority of our contact is done solely online and through email. You can reach us at orders@element120photos.com or by using the contact form on the website.

NAME FRAME QUESTIONS

How do you know what name, photographs and wording I want?

During checkout, there is a section where notes can be added.  This is where you will include your photo letters (S#1, M#2, I#2, T#4, H#5), additional text names and dates, and desired layout and font.  If your order requires a photograph, you can email that to orders@element120photos.com after your purchase.

Will my finished frame come with matting?

In order to allow us to design longer names with larger letters, we have chosen not to use mats with these frames. Instead, our frames are constructed with spacers, which provide the proper airspace to help prevent any moisture issues. The white space you see in the design is photo paper, not matting. Frames are also backed with dust covers to give you a finished look and extend the life of your photo frame.

How do I frame on my own?

If you choose one of our unframed prints, you are responsible for framing it on your own. We offer these prints sized as 10″x20″ since that size is a common frame that can be found anywhere frames are sold. Typically you will find a frame this size with matting that allows you to display 3 different 4″x6″ photos. You will need to remove this matting, and your print will fit directly into the frame.

Can I order the 11″x14″ size frame without a photo, allowing the recipient to add their own photo?

At this time, that is not an option. The design, including the white space, is printed out as one large photograph when the frame is created, making it not possible to let the picture section empty or complete it without a photo. If you wish to buy this as a gift and don’t have a photo, you can purchase a gift certificate which allows the recipient to provide their own photo.

How many photo letters can you fit in the frame?

Using our standard size photographs, we can fit nine (9) letters in the 6″x20″, 8″x20″, and 10″x20″ size frames. We can fit eleven (11) letters in the 10″x26.” If you would like for us to decrease the size of the photograph letters and use layout #3, it is possible to increase this to ten (10) letters and thirteen (13) letters respectively.

I want a specific layout, but with different wording from what is shown in the photo. Is that possible?

YES! The wording we use is just an example of what we can do, but you can use any wording in any of the available layouts. The product’s price is based on the frame size, not the design within, so changing the layout will not affect the price. If you have any doubts what you want will work, just contact us prior to purchase and ask!

PHOTO CARD QUESTIONS

How do you know what text and photographs I want in my template?

After you purchase your digital file design from our site, you need to email your desired text and photos to orders@element120designs.com.   Each template listing explains what is customizable for each design, so be sure to include all the information required. You can also include text details in the “Note to Seller” section of Paypal during checkout. Once this is all received, your order is considered complete and the proofing process will begin.

What quality do the photos I send in need to be?

There are two important things to take into consideration when choosing the photograph that will be on your card. The first is that you have large,high-resolution photographs. You don’t want to have a beautiful customized design with a fuzzy photograph. The second thing is that the photograph will fit well into the template you choose. For example, if you choose a template with a horizontal picture space, you don’t want to use a photograph that is vertical. Photographs can be cropped to fit the photo space and templates can be slightly altered to fit your photograph of choice. If you have doubts that the photograph you want to use will work, send it to us and we will let you know. You can also send more than one photograph and we will choose what will work best with the template design.

So, Element 120 will edit the photographs to fit the template?

Yes, we actually ask that you allow us to edit the photograph to fit the template. This pertains to cropping, color to black and white changes, or any other edits you may want done.

Why must I contact Element 120 prior to purchase with color questions?

The most important thing to understand is that every computer monitor displays colors differently and it is not possible to match printed colors to exactly what you view on your computer. We have chosen the colors that are currently in the templates based on how they will print, not on how they look on the computer screen. If you would like to change the template colors, you must understand we cannot be held responsible for color differences from your screen to the final product. If you are concerned about a specific color, for example wedding colors on invitations, we recommend that you order a printed proof to approve as opposed to an email proof. There is an additional cost for this service.

What paper will be used for my order?

We current offer two paper options for our photo card designs – a high quality Matte Card Stock, 280 gsm, and a high quality Semi-Gloss Card Stock, 300gsm.  Both of these paper options offer you beautiful photographic prints on archival, acid-free paper and our printing is done with professional grade, high-density pigment ink jet printers.  We are so proud of the results and can’t wait for you to see how fantastic the results are!

Why don’t you offer photo paper?

Since all of our card designs are available as digital files only, you are more than welcome to have your card printed on photo paper on your own.  We have chosen to offer the card stock option for our printing instead, since the photo quality is superb and the card is more durable.  Plus, you can write on the back of the card stock, which we always think is a nice option to have!
